Comme Ca Art has been invited to curate exhibitions in the critically acclaimed Panacea Bar & Restaurant. The exhibition programme for 2008 opens on Tuesday 4th March with works by the renowned Little Artists.
Cake and Neave are young British artists who have produced a cult unity of character, mayhem and a genuine passion for art to portray their ideas. The creation of the Little Artists, two highly mischievous animated characters with a penchant for cheekiness and notoriety, has given Cake & Neave a stage on which to ultimately project their aspirations and concerns, with relation to their current position within the art world.
Cake and Neave are most famous for their reproductions in Lego of landmark artworks of modern art. Such as Salvador Dali's - Lobster Phone; Damien Hirst's - Shark tank and Butterfly Paintings; Rachael Whiteread's Room Andy Warhol's - Dollar Bills, Maurizio Cattelan's - Hanging Horse and Olive Tree; Anselm Kiefer's- Book with Wings; Gilbert & George as themselves and more recently Tracey Emin's bed!
The works on display at Panacea showcase their highly covetable renditions of works by famous artists in the form of large format Lambda prints. This exhibition is a precursor to their inclusion at the Tatton Park Biennial, running from May – September 2008.
