Exhibition Dates: 15.05.25 - 15.07.25
Anastasia Borodina and Olga Mun are two international artists who have made Manchester their home. Both artists have studied Fine Art, bringing their classical painting training into their works with a modern and contemporary twist. Both artists are proving to be popular with Comme Ca Art's collectors and we look forward to working with both artists over the coming years to see how they further develop their artistic style.
ANASTASIA BORODINA
Growing up in the North Caucasus, Anastasia Borodina graduated with honours from Ilya Repin’s Academy of Arts in Saint-Petersburg, where she had learned from the best representatives of the Russian classical school of painting in the workshop of renowned artist Yuri Kalyuta. Since 2019, Anastasia has been living and working in Manchester (UK), mastering her artistic vision and adapting the language of the classical school of painting to the contemporary artistic perception of the modern lifestyle and people. In 2024, she was elected associate member of the Manchester Academy of Fine Arts (MAFA).
OLGA MUN
Olga Mun is a figurative abstract painter currently residing and studying for her MA in Fine Art at The University of Salford. She recently won the prestigious AXA Art Prize UK 2023, where she was awarded £10,000 for her outstanding figurative art piece titled "IMPOSSIBLE PAINTING" (Cat no.62). The prize was awarded by a panel of judges including Jennifer Schipf, Mark Hampson, and Rachel Hobkirk, recognising her exceptional talent and contribution to contemporary art.
"My painting practice explores the vastness of the human condition, often this story and the intention of work is a consistent essence on one canvas. I convey my thoughts about humanity with such a depth that it causes an internal study of life, the environment, history and human activity and interaction. The work isn’t purely figurative, it plays with abstraction. It uses elements like almost abstract figures, transformative forms, gestural strokes, and infinite colour blending for each shape represented." Olga Mun
The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 - 22:00 and is on the first floor of the Lowry Hotel.
